okay, so when i get out of the journal writing habit ...i, uh...don't seem to know how to get back in. and everything i write seems so unbelievably stupid and trivial.

shall i talk about the shock of strolling around old navy trying to find clothes that don't enhance your sausage-like visage...and then running into someone that you knew in college in michigan...who remembers that she sat next to you at a madrigal dinner one night...not only do you not know who she is BUT YOU HAVEN'T HAD THE CHANCE TO GET THIN BEFORE YOU RUN INTO HER! it only marginally matters that you have no clue who she is. okay, so it matters. but it's still funny that your first thought is, "oops! i didn't take the opportunity to go to the gym more, in case i would run into a stranger who knew my name."

perhaps, i should regale you with tales of toddler pee.

one morning my eldest (a well-known morning "sleep faker") falls to the ground when i hall his patookie out of bed...so i pick him up...take him to the bathroom...and aim him in the direction of the toilet...and tell him to go ahead and walk over and pee...only he thinks that go ahead means to just GO AHEAD. *snort* morning pee? goes on for freakin' forever, my friends. add "clean up pee" to the list of things to do on your way out of the house in the morning...

oh, and last night? leon and i were watching teevee when we heard something burst...was there a hole in a pipe? did a dog/kid/ghost turn on a faucet? or did the three-year-old turn over on his side whilst asleep and pee a river onto his floor. *ding*ding*ding*ding* you are correct.

i think, perhaps, i shall whisper you a secret. a quiet something that i'm only beginning to hope about. within the last month...a furry friend (who is very close to my heart)...has started using her back legs. she's balancing. and taking steps. and it is so amazing that i can't believe that it is true, yet. so don't say anything. but think sweet thoughts. or pray for her beautiful soul. because she is a much better person as a dog, than i'll ever be.
