so. i've been trapped with the children for quite a long time. they let me out for a couple hours or so to knit, and sometimes to work, but primarily? lockdown.
so. i get out of work this weekend, and the leon says that he will let me go grocery shopping ALL BY MYSELF. the glee. and let me just say right here that the rwkn should never be allowed to shop when she is tired. she is daunted by comparison shopping toilet paper (for example) and will spend a half an hour in a drooling trance staring at the shelves.
so. i think to myself...i should just f*ck the compact thing and buy some board games. 'cause, dagnabit...i am sick to death of sitting around my house playing little people. i yearn for candyland! chutes and ladders, for crackers sake!
so. then i sigh longingly at the radio flyer as i pass with a cart full of stuff. i look at target's new wooden outdoor playthings and i am permanently ruined for anything that i could make myself.
only. i get a grip and run screaming from the store. okay, not literally screaming, but mostly. i did get a makeup brush. 'cause used make-up brushes are not going to happen. and i did see if i could find one that wasn't made in china. after last friday's exciting human rights episode of inside china, i'm just not quite the same.
[rwkn re-enactment]
rwkn flips the channels
the leon: INSIDE CHINA! INSIDE CHINA!
rwkn: ????
the leon: every friday when you're gone, i usually watch inside china on pbs. last week it was about the environment, this week is about the rights of the people. actually, it is china from the inside.
[cut]
now. yesterday. thrift store one: the original candyland. cheap. why buy the "vintage" candyland at target when i can have the vintage candyland? also? thrift store two: chutes and ladders. never been open. and? wait for it...the delux eighty-some-odd-dollar radio flyer tricycle! at last! my short little guy can have a tricycle where he can reach the pedals! and i paid twenty-some-odd-bucks for the sucker. plus? they emailed me the instructions for the bike (also never been opened or assembled) and will replace any missing parts for FREE should i need them.
i should never doubt my skills.

The Pirata likes herself some thrifting. She will accompany you with a quickness at such a time as you are ready.
Wow, you got mad skills girl! A radio flyer trike is a major score. Lucky you...and lucky little sweety who get to ride it. Now is it going in the house? Or outside where it is supposed to go?
Oh, and I loved your commentary on the super bowl. I thought the same thing about Prince...what the heck was that?
