okay. so. now that i'm up...
i was talking to a friend yesterday about the possibility of visiting her this summer...she mentioned that summer was really just twelve weekends in rapid succession. crikey. not a lot of time. but...enough time for a few wee goals! i'm such a fan of lists, you know. i am quite aware that i never quite live up to my expectations. sokay. i can handle it. i'm not actually proposing that i finish all this, just that i post progress photos.
the beautiful sterling pendant necklaces that i made h's teachers for the end of the year has gotten me on a crafty kick. so, i'm mulling about some projects. wheee!
1) i'm in the middle of the walking away socks pattern from fibertrends. i'm going to finish those suckers. man alive but they are fun to knit. you rib around the sides and then do a lacy pattern. so, nice soothing knitting combined with something to perk you up every row. festive. they be the purple ones, matey.
2) i'm going to embroider some tea towels for my mom. i don't know why i'm doing tea towels, except that they're part of a kit for beginners. i be a beginner, fer sure. if i'm fiesty, i might even knit a lace border. (heh. who am i kidding?)
3) learning to sew. 'cause yo! baby! i have an underutilized (meaning that it skeers me) sewing machine in my attic. this friday i start a two part skirt sewing class. i also have a project that my friend r. and i started which i need to frickin' finish, as well.
okay, so that's it with the crafty projects. except that i also think i should master drop spindle spinning, and, perhaps, some stained glass work. my mom is passing along her stained glass studio – glass and all! who wouldn't want to get in on that action?
the leon and i are also knee deep in some home improvement projects. that shouldn't count though, eh? yeah, i didn't think so.

I like the socks v much - and I think you'd better post a photo of the skirt when it's done.
Hey I think home improvement counts as a crafty pursuit. I've got bathroom tile to lay. That ought to get my mosaic juices flowing. And I agree that you can not pass a fortuitous stained glass horse in the mouth.
I think you need to post about the bathroom improvements 'cause that ain't no putting wallpaper on the wall type stuff. Glitter in the paint? Oh my.
