today we are negotiating the party parameters for august, the imaginary sister. she's older than h, and spends most of her time in france or california depending on who you ask. last year she had a birthday party during which h melted down because he wanted it to be his birthday. moments ago he told me that august was having her birthday again...tomorrow. and then he proceeds to tell me that we should also include april.
"no. we can't have an april."
"why not?"
"it's too expensive to have more than one imaginary sister."
"why?"
"it just is"
"but i want a couple of them"
"no"
"are you sure?"
"okay, you can have more than one, but they can't all have birthday parties tomorrow."
