let's batten down the hatches, shall we?

i think it's time to hunker down. with an impending snow storm on the horizon, and a much too active knitting social life, it seems a good time to snuggle in with the family and get some work down on the house. or snuggle on the house and...geez, i dunno. this confuzzles me. whatever. i have plenty of practical knitting to do, numerous pbs videos, and a strong belief that impending ice storms mean increased napping. you know how i love a good nap, right? i'm feeling a tad bit joyful at the prospect of homebounde

first i have to get groceries. seeing that i'm at the library (note the kentucky phrasing, y'all), i think i'll grab some cookbooks. this is in direct opposition to the local wisdom that it requires five gallons of milk and numerous loaves of bread to get a person through a snow storm. no, seriously. it's like a milk bonanza up in here, yo! i think that there is some social networking site for old foegies (a phone tree, perhaps?) that alerts them to storms and sends them reeling. go into disco kroger before a storm? you're taking your life into your own hands. the swirling throngs of people of the older persuasion could quite possibly be the death of you.

what i really want is some soups. honestly, that's all i feel like eating these days is soup. more accurately, i'm leaning towards that soup and salad combo dealio. but with sandwiches. and all homemade. so, exactly like the olive garden advertisements, but completely different. what would be stellar is if i got all badass and such and learned to make bread.

theLeon should be getting off of work soon, and i have a pressure cooker to conquer, so i gotta get licketysplitlike. what are the chances, with my recent furnace/flooded basement/sudden breakage of clothes dryer luck, that i'll be able to rock the pressure cooker? without blowing up, natch. ah, the great mysteries of life.
