1. the coffee
i deny that i have become a coffee drinker. i have es·chewed the beverage for, lo, thirty or so years in favor of more sophisticated drinks like tea. those loverly children of mine have kept me sleep deprived for so long...well i blame them. not that i'm a coffee drinker or anything. not that i woke up this morning ground fresh beans with a bit of cinnamon stick and went about my day with joy in my steps...
2. the fat clothes
i got skinny from the not eating. coupled with the months of exercising regularly. so i threw out my fat clothes. because i wouldn't want to encourage the return of the fat. and then i kept wearing my clothes when they got uncomfortable (but not to the point of the unsightly bulge that i've seen round these parts *shudder*). yeah, so i got some new clothes. only i've made this pact with myself that i won't buy anything new. ya' know, sweatshops...yada, yada, yada... monday night? pshew baby, i really got my thrift on. i even like some of the clothing in the light of day. but today? i tried again ('cause a gal can't wear the same three things day after day). everything was just wrong. wrong. wrong. i feel blimpy.
3. i am obsessed with all things obento, and sushi. so is harrison. he wants sushis every night. he can't have it, but he still asks. he also can't have rooster sauce with disappoints him greatly. i'm totally experimenting this weekend. again with the nama http://namasushibar.com/ i just can't help myself. i'm totally to the actual japanese grocery in town. i've never heard of it, but i've been assured that it exists. after that i'm going to head on over to pick up #4
4. what's better than finding the receipt to your crushed glasses on the last day of the warranty? and finding out that the other glasses were covered by the warranty, but that they'll cover 'em anyway? i think it is when they search and search for the same frames, but can only find them in PURPLE.
5. i really wanted to know why our library was only showing an edited version of the great gatsby during their "one book lexington" festivities. isn't this a nice response?
We chose to show the edited Redford version because the Kentucky Dept.
of Library and Archives (KDLA) offered public performance rights for
it. Otherwise, as I understand it, the library would have had to purchase
public performance rights if we wanted to show the unedited 1974
version. It was also the overwhelming opinion of staffmembers that the
Redford version is better than the newer Toby Stephens/Mira Sorvino
version. Finally, we felt that the slightly shortened (edited) version
would work out nicely, timewise, for a library program in that it would
offer sufficient time for evening viewing & discussion, and would
encroach upon neither the dinner hour nor the 9:00 library closing
time.
Please be aware, however, that several library locations do offer the
unedited Redford version, as well as the unedited Stephens/Sorvino
version, on DVD for customers to check out and view at home if they
wish.
Again, I hope you can participate in some of the library's 1 Book/1
Lexington events associated with THE GREAT GATSBY! Take care--
6. gearing up: http://www.kitefest.com/kites.html
7. this weekend: ice rink. beaverscouts meeting. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/lexingtonbeaverscouts/ (it sounds more serious than it is. the girls from theanticraft.com are involved, as is a bar.)
8. cheese and wine tasting tonight at the liquor barn.
9. i'm disappointed to find that they've changed the recipe for the french silk pie milkshake at the dairy queen. i'm so disenchanted.
