my lovely surprise freelance check came in this weekend, and i was able to stock up on all sorts of things that make for a sumptuous pantry. the farmer's market yielded the first chard of the season, yellow squash, and the most beautiful tomatoes. at the asian market i bravely picked out foods i had never even heard of along with avocados and mushrooms (oyster and shitake). the co-op helped fill out our bulk ingredients and baking ingredients.
so many meals are dancing around my head. i don't have any recipes, but with quality ingredients, it is really hard to go wrong. tonight? ratatouille. tomorrow? fresh pesto. right now i'm off to savor a cold, fresh, delicious orange.

Oooh, fresh food.
We recently got a K-mart sized international supermarket called Saraga. I'm well familiar with the 'ole buying things you haven't heard of maneuver.
Nice blog... chased it down thru friends-of-friends...
howdy!!
