full on day of headache has subsided. huzzah! my toe will survive. wheee! and now i'm diving headfirst into a sea of plague. boo...hisss!
i took off early from the coffee shop due to said plague, and found an awesome component of project c-birthday at a yardsale on my way home. a childcraft kitchen. for $20. score! now i'm trying to figure out what to do about utensils and plates and such. i may give up on my no-buy plans. it's his freakin' birthday, after all. i'm also trying to decide whether or not to incorporate a grocery in to the scenario. he's obsessed with shopping carts, so a cart, playfood, and register might be cool. i'm just very careful about how much i give the kids. this might be too much.
i'm also planning for the in-law visit. grandma annie and her sister "grandma shirley" (c. likes to call her that, rather than aunt) will be attending. i've also got to figure out what to do about invitees. now that he's not in pre-school, that narrows the field. i'll probably send invites to some of the pre-school folks, a playground buddy, and a couple of kids from the class he takes at the children's museum.
he's going to be four, y'all. this would make me feel old, except i said something about my age to a kid at work and he was literally flabbergasted. and then some customer said something to me that had to do with college math. when i said that i couldn't remember that far back, as i had graduated x years ago, he about blew a gasket. so i am youngalicious. if i didn't have the plague, i'd jump for joy.
