my, oh, my have these past few weeks been taxing. with crazy work-filled, solo parenting days put behind for a bit, i am enjoying quite a lovely weekend.

the weather 'round these parts has me downright swoony. truth be told, it could be a bit nippier, but we're headed in the right direction. i closed last night, so we indulged in some cartoons this morning. i am a tad bit judgmental when it comes to these things. i'm trying to ease up. is it so bad if they watch care bears every once and awhile? not educational, really, but when the older kid that admits that he loves it in spite of what his friends might think (he just doesn't tell them), well, i can't help myself. my boy still loves wee cuddly bears! huzzah! i know i'm pathetic. he's going to be ancient in about 10 seconds, so i'm grasping at every tender moment i can get.

okay, so then we got off our assbutts and headed to the farmers market. we usually hit the joint around seven, so it was a little on the fucking crazy as all hell side. sokay. i got some awesome stuffs. there is a local winery that has one quite good aged dry white wine. we shall not mention the others, but this one? terrific. picked up a bottle. spoke to the therapy pet people about wheelchair ellie. wouldn't she be terrific as a therapy pet? then i spoke to the new goat cheese producer and discussed a pre-order for next week. it's hard to pass up a good goat cheese, don't you think? the next order of business was the herb booth. an overbearing (might i say northern? i am northern, so i should get a pass), yet thoughtful woman and her husband. she offered to give me the crack, uh, garlic blend in bulk! all the cost is in her containers, she confided. awwwwwww yeah. our last stop was to visit charlie. he showed off some mad scat skillz, and sang a little request for me.

then we hit the park where the kids played and played. i sat 'neath a tree all ferdinand like and did the menu plan, grocery list for the week. have i mentioned the glorious weather? glorious. under a tree, light breeze blowing, glorious.

a little brunchy brunch at the co-op, some amazing food purchases, and a quick trip to the yu yu asian market later, and we are home. the boys have been playing cards and trying on new sponge bob pajamas. c has been in and out of the pop up dog house. now h. is running around with an elastic band round his noggin' pretending to be a jogger.

now i'm off to take a bath filled with lushy goodness. then thrifting with a friend, perhaps a visit to the liquor barn, and a snuggle with the leon.
