people? i am ooooooold. seriously. oooooooold. for example, at work? i use my independence to make good use of all the pent up swearing that i feel is inherent to child rearing. you know, the stuff that you say in your head? yeah. so, whilst doing dishes, or whatever little tasks piss me off at the coffee shop, i tend to talk like a sailor. the other day? one of my co-workers turned to me and said, "i wonder what it would be like to have a mother that works with younger co-workers, and talks like you do." and then? he follows up with, "hey, that's not an insult. you just remind me of my mother." oy veh! when twenty-year-olds tell you that you remind them of their mother....well, i might be a tad over the hill. that's just one reason that the recent discussions about babylust and family size have me in a tizzy. i mean, i don't really want to have more...but. but it never really sunk in that i'd reach a point where it was decided for me. i like the idea of having more. oh, my dear sweet boys are just so dear, and so sweet. it's a nice fantasy.

speaking of my dear sweet boys, i may be the mother of a boy scout. you know, a big kid. boy scouts are big kids, aren't they? kids who go away to camp? yikes. we sweated that one out for awhile. the national organization is firmly against having homosexuals involved, as parents, as kids, as leaders. and the atheists? none too fond of them, either. i do not want to have my children grow up to be anything less than accepting of diversity. so, i was a great big pain in the local pack's ass. i called. i asked questions. i could feel the squirming on the other end. i'm satisfied that it won't be an issue. it cracked me up when the leader said, we meet at the episcopalian church...they're pretty darn liberal. and then i happened upon another parent asking them the same questions when we went to sign up. awesome. are kids are the same age, so we'll be in the same pack.

other than that? i've got nothing. we're just tooling around. i'm working when leon's off. he's working when i'm off. there's a lot of solo parenting going on. the kids are having a good time with their "anything rangers." they have compromised with their mother, and come up with an "alternative" to out and out violence. they have guns, but they are used to make the bad guys good. as an added bonus, if you shoot a good guy by mistake, you've got to shoot him again to return him to his former state. i die a little, but it's a compromise. oh, and the anything part? you can have any powers that you want. you can even fart glitter. geez. maybe i am hanging 'round the young folk too much.
