ROBIEWANKENOBIE

halloween brought out the grumpiest folk to step foot in a coffee shop. seriously. it was as if they missed all the magic and wow of the day. did they not find joy in my spider beanie bopper headband? gracious. i, myself, could hardly stand the suspense. i had a whole plan, you see, for some fabulous old skool ghost costumes. for the whole fan damily. i mean, i never got to be a ghost in days gone by, and i really wanted a good shot at it. i did add modern innovation by attaching the sheet to the upper half of a dollar store mask (i just cut the sheet out around the eyes) so that everything would stay on. armed with our pumpkin candy buckets, we hit the streets. mr4 and i were VERY SCARY. we made lots of ghost noises as we ran down the sidewalk, sheets a flappin'. there may have been one kentucky moment where a woman possessing the same amount of melanin as the leon had to take a closer look at the people in white sheets passing by, but aside from that? a fabulous time. thriller was a bit of a letdown this year as there were many more dancers and very large crowds, which somehow translated to less bang for the buck, but as it was free, i can't really complain about the whimper. i do contend, however, that any community that can sustain such a vibrant thriller reenactment scene can't be all bad.

today i had a wee little shift at the store, followed by bedknobs and broomsticks, and a short nap. afterwords we had a big night out. i had been awarded a gift certificate for my celebrated hot chocolate selling skillz, which we used to the fullest. then we hit up a lovely bookstore, and indulged in the aforementioned beverage. a few bedtime tales later, the munchkins are slumbering, and i am embarking on an eyre affair. (i suppose there might also be tea and some hot vampire action, because that's just how we roll.)

sometimes the planets just align, folks, garnering an unprecedented amount of hunky dory. i think i'll take it.
