i'm at the coffee shop awaiting a doctor's appointment and thrifty thursday, and my my my...is that a belt loop sculpture on the assbutt section of that woman's coat? or does it say something? i'm really trying to be stealth as i glance over, but i'm not sure that i'm pulling it off. especially now that i've sneezed. it was a very unstealth sneeze. other than that? unremarkable crowd. i'm having a heck of a time staying out of the fray, though. i'd literally sit on my hands were it not for that whole typing thing. the elbows are not so dexterous.

so, with no transition whatsoever, the leon delivered an edict the last time i did a quilt exchange. "i refuse to help you do this again! it makes you crazypants!" or something along those lines. i'm kinda hazy about the wording, as i puddled around in blissful ignorance until yesterday. when he reminded me. i'm going to tell you right now. i am so not crazypants. i have amazing amazing fabrics! i have a pattern! i have a working sewing machine! all ingredients in a truly successful relationship, no? i have a feeling that i might fall in love with this one. it would be really exciting if i were to happen to have enough for a pink chalk studio scarf when i finish. i look back fondly on the scarves that i did last christmas...that might be all the encouragement that i need.

this evening, along with quilting, there will be a grocery shop. i need to figure out some imaginative meals. 'cause my imagination is kaput. quiche? the leon loves him some quiche. plus? i can sneak in lots of spinach, because the cheese and eggs don't really count when offset by spinach, right? and, boy gee howdy are there some lovely cheeses left over from election night. a melange of goat, paprika pepper, smoked gouda...and i think we have a blue lurking about. lots to choose from. we'll also have a salad bar night. they've become di rigeur in the household. the boys really enjoy it. i think what we're really missing is a good soup. i love me some soup. i'll have to search for a good recipe, though. i'm soup improvisational impaired. give me three stones and some flour and i can bang out a hell of a pasta or somesuch...but soup? notsomuch.
