aside from the fact that we lost money yesterday, it was a perfect day. theLeon was sent home again due to mud (who would have thought there would be such a fuss about mud this year?), one the one hand? LEON! on the other hand? no moolah. and on the other other hand? i was able to pawn off breakfast duties on him. this week, i'm just not feeling the breakfast making.

in a flash of brilliance! i messaged my friend ne. we ran away to our favorite coffee shop. we may have had a great time. i may have had the best sandwich in the world™. i may have been forced to buy a very practical clutch AGAINST MY WILL. and then? i checked facebook. and my world became even more awesomer and a half. because my favorite local artist, Ed Franklin, has been placing wooden burned and painted dolls all over town. and i figured out that the clue pertained to Dewey. plus? thanks to my trusty friend, who spent years shelving books, we were able to pinpoint our target. poetry. dang, yo! we tore out of the coffee shop like a house on fire. and zipped over to the library. and honed in on our prey. and there it was. it really is amazing in person. SCORE!

also that day? i picked up the sequel to the terribly creeptastic in the woods. i would not have read the first had someone not recommended it (just not my cuppa tea), and i've been waiting forever for the sucker to hit paperback. so far it is turning out to be a real winner.

oh! and my thrift mojo was really rockin' red hawt that day. would that i had a million trillion google infinity amount of dollars, because i was all sorts of amazing. harry potter party ties? check. coffee maker of awesome and win, and the most beautiful reversable skirt in all the world.

following this day of frivolity was the best harry potter party in all the world (pictures to come), an impromptu playdate with a new friend (she has THE most peaceful house on the planet. can you tell me how she does that with three dogs and two kids?), and hours spent with toys. transformers, and comic books, and magic kits...oh my!

this summer? i could just wrap it up and put it in my pocket. yes, please.
