tomorrow is a big day for me. i'm trying to channel my inner opposite. but the truth is? when i'm in love? i hate for things to change. i'm in love with my job. i'm in love with my kids. i'm in love with my dad. and it's all changing. too quickly, for my taste.

i'll be moving to a new coffee shop after tomorrow, and it just kiils me. i know, i know, not the end of the world. but i can't tell you how my day is brightend when i can have a drink ready and waiting just from a glance at the door. i know my customers by heart. and a short five minute interraction with them in the morning can do wonders for restoring faith in humanity. maybe i'm putting too fine a point on it (say I'm the only bee in your bonnet), but this place brings me joy. i hate to say goodbye.

the boys are finishing up another school year tomorrow, and they just feel so big to me now. a first grader? a third grader? you better believe that i'm going to savor every minute of this summer. remind me if i don't. remind me if i'm too concerned about money, or time, or the future...it's all here right now. they'll be wonderful as they grow, won't they? i can probably loosen my grip just a titch. i don't hate to see them grow up, really. i'm excited to see what their path is, and it sure beats the alternative.

dad is going to discuss experimental treatments with his doctor tomorrow. chemo didn't do much...it spread to the bone. so, now, experimental treatments. i know that he's more concerned with the quality of his days than the number. he's still playing raquet ball, and marking things off the bucket list. everything is good right now. i'm nervous about what the future will be.

so, tonight the boys and i will glitter and glue and write our thank yous to the teachers, and tomorrow we'll say good bye to them. i'll say goodbye to my favorite customers, and thank them, too. i'm going to squeeze my dad, tight, though...because we've got many months left before we come to that point.

and then? when the day is through? then i'll start working on all my new hellos.

It does sometimes seem as though life is all about beginnings and ends. Hope your last day at the coffee shop was a good one.
