oh, my. i am too old for this new coffee shop schedule. right now i'm getting up with the muscrats in the morning, playing reindeer games all day, and then closing at the coffee shop five days a week. i'm too old for this crazy business. and, although i'll miss this nice rhythm the boys and i have fallen into, i think an awake mommy would be just that much more awesome. oh, and i'd get to see theLeon, too. i do so adore theLeon, and I hate that whole ships passing in the night routine. (also? i need my nights and weekends available so that i can join the local marching band)

the job i want mostest in the whole wide world is at a local college. i'm told they work very slowly through their hiring process. my sources have proved correct. i seem to be moving through the pipeline, but i haven't spoken to an actual person yet. *sigh* i always check them first, though.

look! i could be an assistant softball coach! hrm. the requirements are a tad bit problematic, though... "Competitive collegiate division I softball playing experience desirable. Must be able to pitch batting practice." i suppose that won't work. my inability to walk across a room without tripping? a big fat no.

phlebotomist? i DO like the SOUND of that, but no.

now on to craigslist...what wonders greet me there? i could be a ceramic glaze technician! doesn't that sound grand? only part time, though, so that's not going to work. and i doubt they have a 401k. hold on...i could get paid 1,850 to 3,675 for sampling products! my, that sounds like a good deal. and i can do it from the comfort of my own home. *cough* moving on...steakhouse cook! every vegetarian's dream!

[hold on while i take a moment to admire the latest hairdo on the stick ponies...there is some sort of hair salon in the bathroom, who knew?]

on to career builder and monster! job hunting r fun! i could join the military! "Play the Guitar?" shit. nope.

oh, hey, i literally just found the job of my dreams. well, it would be if it paid more. i think i can make it work, though...we'll see. *tapsfingersimpatientlywaitingforareply*

in the meantime, i'll enjoy spending time with my new young peoples. we staged a mutiny the other night, and it was fabulous. we donned pirate headgear and big gold hoops, and greeted people with a big healthy "aaaaaargh" when they reached the drive-thru speaker. one person handed over a tip and refused change because she thought we were so hilarious. another customer requested that we call her coffee shop in akron to convince them to play along. new and exciting theme nights ahead...but keep it supah sekrit, wouldja?

in completely unrelated news, my mother just called. the background to this story is that there were two people in the family that were none too fond of me marrying someone of the high melanin variety. one? my gay uncle. which just amused the hell out of me. another? a distant relative who sat my parents down to explain that it was a problem. they had no idea. here they were thinking that theLeon was awesome, when really...*grin* at any rate, she just sent a crystal rose bowl over that she had been given when she got married. she thought that it should be back in our family, and that i should have it. i'm not sure exactly what to think of that, but there it is. free antique crystal rose bowl for the biracial boogie family. huzzah!
