so...dad is still dying, big girl job hasn't been found...same ole, same ole. but summer has fallen into a nice little rhythm.
an unexpected visit from uncle s. culminated in races...glow-in-the-dark dinosaurs riding monster trucks, to be specific. there were intricate rules, varying courses, and very enthusiastic drivers. a special shout-out to cousin a, who really made the day special. i think it is so neat that a grown-up cousin can play so enthusiastically with the little guys. and now? now i want to praise theLeon. how cool is it that my mother could say something about the light in the bathroom being poor, me mention that maybe he could take a look at it...and then theLeon disappears, reappears, and magically! poof! awesome lighting. like it was nothing. i love how casually gentle and loving he is with my folks. a++++ will marry again.
so, today we're off to the grocery (maybe the farmers market...there is a new one in the area that only sells homegrown produce), and, of course, the pool. always the pool. we walked to our neighborhood pool yesterday, and it was lovely, so maybe we'll do it again. why drive when you can spend the time using the towels for bullfighting, wings, and superhero capes?
tonight will be coffee shop night. we let the manager in on our little theme night secret, and he didn't shut us down. it is so much easier slinging coffee as a cowboy or a pirate sometimes, don't you think? tonight is a regular shift, but if this morning is any indication? i'll be spending it whistling and singing. 'tis a good day.
