51. i've been thinking about actual literal happy places to go to this summer. i'll be going "home" to ny for the first time since i've had kids (10+ years). i can't wait! i'm contemplating other getaways. michigan maybe? i miss my friend j., terribly.

52. i'd like to find a sewing retreat, or spinning retreat, or meditation retreat this summer. something just for me.

53. my friend a. and i started sewing a dress this week. i've been dragging on the no guts no glory front lately, and just haven't been able to convince myself that i can sew anything other than leetle quilts. i can, of course. i'm just being an ass. so a. is being all shut the fuck up. this is good for me.

54. i never thought i'd like having friends that are women. sometimes i don't. but, for the most part, my foray into girlfriend land has been awesomesauce.

55. the stitch'n'bitch used to be my weekly escape. i must be losing my bitch, 'cause i haven't been in eons.

56. i have been spinning in the park on mondays with my guru. it's good for me to have a regular date, otherwise i forget to leave the house.

57. our home improvement jag has gotten jagged. we have stalled completely. this is not good when you've taken down all the upper cabinets. this weekend is paint the kitchen time - or bust!

58. i'm tempted to paint the fridge. or decorate it in some other way. i can't glitter it or it would compete with the bathroom. i'm tempted to bring in the vintage fridge from the garage. it is downright button cute.

59. not only would a vintage fridge be sweet in the new kitchen, but it will keep us from overbuying. i get fucking little house on the prairie meets bomb shelter when i'm stressed. surprisingly, i only have one can of beans. normally i have about 10. all is well in the world if there are black beans.

60. tehLeon went to the library for me last night. the woman at the desk said, "you're the one who gets all the cool cookbooks!" actually, it's me. i love me a good cookbook. i'm dying to delve into the artisian breads in five minutes a day book.

61. i need to bake more bread. we've got a great local mill that produces flour of awesome. this week i'm running the gauntlet.

62. moar sandwich recipes. normally? i hate sandwiches. with the burning passion i usually reserve for old skool bonjovi or stryper. i think my weltschmerz has me yearning for the simplicity of bitty pieces of greatness embraced by homemade bread.

63. i also hate people who walk against the light in front of kids or u-turn from the carpool lane in the mornings. i get all fucking rude in that super duper nice way. no, really, i'm nice. i'm just thinking eeeeevile thoughts.

64. i don't hate my kid's teachers. i especially love mrs.s. she runs the recycling club and has picked up the recycling from every single classroom in our school every daggone day of the school year for five or so years. they friggin' cut the waste at the school by 25% last year. how cool is that?

65.i still want to be a teacher. i'm still afraid of the math portion of the g.r.e. (are you sensing a theme here?). it's kinda hard to get motivated though when you're currently working a job of awesomesauce.

66. it's nice to have a job where you are valued.

67. i've had a lot of crappy jobs.

68. sometimes my boss brings me coffee from the *bux. sometimes parishoners bring me treats. i often get flowers.

69. i like the church because everyone is welcome. and they mean it.

70. i also like it because my boss is wikkid sarcastic and a little bit gullible.

71. i'm wikkid sarcastic, too. and a little bit irreverent. they still love me.

72. you know what i'm loving right now? shoes. there is going to be a shoe post. oh, yes. a shoe post. i've acquired some nifty sneakers and a few heels that should be celebrated.

73. i want more. especially some fluvog heels. and some mophops

74. i also want the disco bar that got away. i had a chance to guy one. i hesitated. i lost.

75. i also want to replace my cabbage teapot.

76. the family called it the mob teapot because it passed into the the family through an inlaw with ties to the mob.

78. my parents admired it. my aunt s. said that she was taught to give things away to those who admired them. my parents didn't really admire it.

79. i did.

80. it died a tragic death. i can't find a replacement anywhere.

81. i did find a chipped salt and pepper shaker. i had to buy them, but it's not the same.

82. mr6 just asked why people live in turkey. i said because they don't want to live in gravy.

more tomorrow. gotta go get ready for a hot date with theLeon.
