and all is well with the world.

i got to daycare and they were just cleaning up the h-man. heck of a nosebleed. apparently brother c was very attentive and sweet. still? not an auspicious beginning to the evening.

after dinner we prepared to make pretzels. oh, so homey. oh, so family bondingish. oh, how i overestimated my mommy prowess. once the first batch was in the oven i dispatched my minions to the bathtub. yummy pretzels when you return! i crowed.

it was a wee bit too quiet. my finely tuned mommyninja skills told me i should check on them. i diverted disaster with my quick reflexes...no toilet paper in the tub, darlings. now go take your baths and i'll finish up with the pretzels.

i returned mere moments later. not only had they flooded the floor, tossed paper and newspaper in the tub, but they had also started a toiletpaper mache project on the wall.

i lost my temper, i'm not proud. children were sent to their rooms. i fired myself as mommy. and? God's amazing grace shines through. i'm sure that my hubris was apparent. but my fall? cushioned by the return of my white knight. he listens to the crying chilluns, takes one look at me, and brings out his superdooper calming voice. a little: boys, just relax, i'm going to go to the bathroom and then we'll talk. a little: honey, it's going to be okay. and before i know it? i'm out the door to get my knit on.

loverly time with the girls (dude...they rock HARD). a generous gift of a decaf pumpkin latte from the nice young lad at starbucks. a phoenix like return of my knitting pattern. a beautiful picture perfect full moon. and rockin' good blues on the radio.

i am restored.

now. i'm off to kiss the babies and i'll try again tomorrow.

I'm super jealous :) I have 2 personalities in my house, the screaming crazy Punisher mother, and the calm soothing mother. My roommate and my son both think I'm a nutball...lucky you to get your knit on girl :)
