i ate out on the deck at work, and knitted away on the bag that i'm making. the wind? and the construction noises next door? instantly transported me back to my childhood. one year my parents took their tax money and splurged. did they buy a new car? no. a bigger tv? no. those smart people took the money and created a wonderland. they had a friend come out with his bulldozer and he created a two mile path into the woods behind our house. my parents planted grass and moss along the newly plowed soil. as the years passed, the carpet grew thick and soft. the trees bent overhead allowing for just a glimpse of the sky above. and along the path? blackberries and raspberries grew wild. at the very beginning of the path, you could find my father's garden. blueberries grew rampant, the bees buzzed near their hives (you should have seen the people at the post office when he had new bees sent in!), and the snap peas begged to be eaten. my treehouse was just in back of the garden. a feast for the senses.
everything touches me intimately. the music on i tunes seems as if it was picked for today. my personal soundtrack. i can hardly contain myself as i'll fly away surges in the background... harmony BEGGING to be sung. i settle for a less obtrusive humming, but i want to break out. every photo i see is beautiful and the colors are rich... dripping with detail. my sweater soft and body conscious. the pineapple sweet and luscious. my husband says my voice is sexy when he speaks to me on the phone. i blush and feel the pleasure of knowing that i'm loved.
fall. i blame fall. the weather sends me into a closer, warmer, more intimate relationship with myself.

this made me happy!
we don't have anything sensory in los angeles.
unless you count the sounds of people berating one another for their invisbly transgressions against That Which Is Cool.
wow...beautiful post. I know the feeling, and fall does stir things up a bit, huh? Ahh...giliian welch and allison kraus...their voices just climb. (I found your site via your comment on wee wonderfuls)

I felt an intensity today -- but yours was so lovely...
