just look at what my second-husband-to-be-should-leon-ever-leave-me-and-i-can't-run-fast-enough-top-catch-him sent me from the exotic island of japan!
they are much smaller than i thought. but much like the dr. who telephone box in that the insides are much larger than they might appear. they hold a ginormous amount of food.
awww, now, ain't that the sweetest thing you e'er done saw? *swoon* not only do we have boxes selected to please every darn member of my family, but we also have onigiri (rice) molds, and kickin' nori punches. i just need a) a few sauce bottles/extras containers b)
"a food mark machine" (although i'm sure i could find a rubber stamp that would work), c) "Hello Kitty Die Cut Egg Poacher" and d) c) "omelette pan" then no one could out bento me!!! i will rule the bento world!!! *bwhahahahah* oh wait, i might need a hot dog cutter, too. or this "this!" and, perhaps, a sushi boat. 'cause, like, well, sushi boat! "das boot!"
and best of all? he sent the fake grass. i LOVE some fake grass in my lunch.
day one: various "sushis" and such out on the porch
day two: spaghetti rice and spinach (bottom box); carrot sticks, al dente green beans, and organic strawberries (top box); and two random fuit thingies from the asian store.
day three: indian spinach sauce over rice (bottom box); tabouli salad, fake grass, cucumbers, half an orange; and two grape candies from the asian market.
day four (tomorrow): flautas w/salsa and sour cream (bottom box); apple slices, carrot sticks; and random desert packs.
day five: we're going traditional. miso soup in a thermos; sushi w/wasabi sprinkles [shitake, red pepper, cream cheese, cucumber, apricot...etc., etc., endamame (bottom box); steamed red bean cakes (top box); random what have yous.
it's international week! olé! leon is enduring a wee bit of taunting on the construction site, but is non-plussed as he is getting some kick ass lunches out of the deal.
share my joy!
"lookie here!"
"and here!"
"and here!"
"and here!"
"and here!"
okay. i'm done. *sits on hands*
