sigh. nice. boring. day. huzzah!

okay, so yesterday i didn't post. i worked my ever-lovin' assbutt off at the workplace and got home to find the internets down. this was the sort of internets malady that required a call to the tech guy and super sekret passwords, so i think it should count as a a signed doctor's note.

last night after the kids went down, the husband and i shared frozen pizza and watched a lame movie. now, i'm am a closet fan of the teen flicks...so i thought this would be interesting. alas. although jeff bridges was good. we marveled at the fact that he could be so good in such a crappy movie. all hail the jeff bridges!

today i ran into a store to drop off an application for part-time work, and we drove on down to the berea. my mom's best friend was in town. oh, how i love her best friend! she gave me all the good gossip about our old house and its new adventures. she said she'd try to take pictures for us. mom didn't remember the name of the people who bought the house, but said that she invited them for a tour one time. her friend might knock on the door and see if she can get pictures of the inside. also? the huge "climbing tree" survived its limbectomy quite nicely and is thriving. i think her husband isn't quite as deaf as he used to be. or new hearing aids. he mostly sat in the living room reading. he also made a pita pizza. he was a huge fan of the pita pizzas.

we spent a fair share of the afternoon rolling down the hill next door and playing smush (where children run full force, leap, and land on your stomach...good times). we got home and dropped by my friends' yarn store to get hat knitting supplies. the kids are obsessed with r's husband. they kicked both of us out of the back room while they all drew pictures. s and i spent awhile trying to figure out what stitch she was knitting. surely it had a real name, right? combined knitting, we think.

napping followed, and then soup preparation while the kids played puppy (which called for lots of rolling around in clothing hampers for some reason). surprisingly? the result was danggood soup. considering i can't make soup, this is a miracle. i don't know why the soup eludes me, but perhaps, my losing streak is behind me. the leon said that i used to make really good chicken soup with leftover chickens. i think he lies. well, at least he thinks that this one is as awesome as the memory soups. rock.

the leon is going out on the town, and there is a 90% chance that i'll be asleep on the sofa fairly quickly. dreaming of soup.
