i'm participating in that blog every day in November thing, in lieu of nano, because (let's face it) i'm too lazy to write an entire novel. i've got more important things to do like figure out how to wear scrubs to work every day. that halloween thing? my friend. it says to me, "me? you gotta find a way to stretch out this scrubs things. it's like wearing pajamas." i don't know how a graphic designer will pull this off, but where there is a will? there is no way. but a girl can dream, right? oh, please. it's not like i am a fashion icon.

halloween was a blast. the jet packs were awesome. i wish more houses around would participate. this whole "never interact with the neighbors" thing is tiresome. i'd blame it on the aging of the area, but that isn't it. we went to a couple of houses with cute elderly people. i'll admit it, i have a fondness for them, as the home made costumes were greatly appreciated at those home. my guess is that folks are used to the isolation. i wish that they weren't. i'd love to have the touchy-feeley neighborhood of my youth. actually, it was the extended country block (four miles) of my youth. i remember going "into the city" (even typing that makes me laugh - it hardly qualified as a city) to trick-or-treat. this only happened one year. sure we had half the houses. sure we had to travel by car. but i knew these people. they are the ones that waved as i passed by on my bike. plus? not as many kids = the motherload of candy. don't get me started on the winter coats that we had to wear over our costumes. it will ruin the vignette.

today i'm letting the little guy fulfill his dream of being a scary ghost. a jet pack can be troublesome at "work" with all those toddlers running around. the leon went out and purchased a sheet last night just for the occasion. goodwill didn't have 'em, and neither did we. who'd-a-thunk?. i called a friend. i chastised her for not being prepared to burn crosses at the drop of a hat (who knows when the idea might strike your fancy). she said that she prefers to light her burning crosses out in the open. she had other people in the room. i told her to tell them that "her friend has a black husband, and that she has a pass for tacky jokes." she was excited to have a "pass-by-proxy." sadly for her, they are only issued on a case-by-case basis. wow. lots 'o hypens in this post. or lots-'o-hyphens. hyphens-'o'plenty even.

i've been up for too long withought caffeine. this insomnia i've been sporting quite sucks. anywhooooo, enough for the first post. i don't want to sprain something.
