stupid dsl

really, folks. i'm trying. but the lack of magical dsl stability skillz is keeping me from posting every daggone day.

so, what exciting things are going down you say? hrm. i'm workin' on big life change plans. dear me. so many little details. i'm gunning for a no guts, no glory life view. we'll see how it all pans out. for right now? doin' the limbo. daggone, but i'm bad at limbo.

this weekend is funeral bonanza weekend. the leon is down in the mountains on the kentucky/tennessee line for mubbie's funeral. he's got about 200 cousins that live in town. add in some great grandkids, and out-of-town folks, and you've got quite an event. when his grandfather died, his quiet uncle, the one who never speaks, had to be peeled off the casket. we'll see what transpires.

the old fogies are hosting a get together in honor of my uncle. we didn't do a funeral, although there was a reception at his house. we've got most of our family here. all three brothers, and eight nieces and nephews. and two dogs. in addition, we have my uncle's boyfriend rich, two of his kids, and two of his grandkids. in one house. and it's raining. it ain't the throngs that leon's got going down, but it should be, uh, festive?

did i mention that the kids popped up bright and early at about six this morning? actually, i think that the wee one was in my bed earlier than that. i hit starbucks on the way here, but there might be a need for reinforcement. a lot of reinforcement.

oh, and i'm going to say that i'm 95% done knitting the socks of doom. my daddio will be trying on sock number one to make sure that it fits. then a little hot toe action and i'm all set. thank you baby jeebus. seriously a miracle. then i can knit things that don't suck.
