bad crunchy-hippy girl.
one of my friends from work shops at the mall. i know. shops at the mall. but i still love her way down in my thrift/consignment store heart. today she has tempted me with her evil evil ways. she's a good...hrm...seven? years younger than me. and i know she sees my frumpy little mama self and says to herself...i'm going to go all what not to wear on her. i bet i could do something with that.
and she's right. in the past she's handed down trendy clothes that she can't flit into, and for my birthday? she decided that i needed a fancy outfit. this, i admit, freaked out about this. i'm a wee bit stumpy *ahem* and chubby and nothing fits me. luckily? i bought a back-up outfit that i could return if i needed to. go me! i actually found something that fits! but, hey, i bought it at a real store. *looks ashamed*
so, today she calls me and tells me to meet her at the coffee shop. where she unveils this crazy ass outfit. i would never wear this outfit. only? i will because i look effin' fabulous. i protested that buying an outfit is too big a gift (and i still maintain that it is), but she said, "i got such a good deal even your grandmother would be proud." the jacket is a bit roomy, but i called the store where she got it, and they found a smaller one on another floor. it was missing a button, but they are going to cannibalize another jacket AND give a 10% discount.
i'll be honest. i don't think i'm going to return the back-up dress either.
i feel guilty about the poor chinese children that are churning out these clothes, but as my friend, the birthday girl, suzabelle says, "yes, but they are REALLY TALENTED chinese children."
*sigh* i promise that i'll reform my ways tomorrow, but be warned, i think i'm going to go buy a new pair of shoes first, because i'm corrupt now.
