i am now 36.
there were twenty some odd people met for dinner at the indian restaurant. coffee shoppers. one coffee shop customer. stitch 'n' bitchers. rollergirls. one brave soul from a previous place of employment. and the leon. the young ones were NOT present as they were SPENDING THE NIGHT with the old fogies.
the fellowship was unparalleled. the service was fairly horiffic. the food was delish.
i looked amazing. a friend shopped for me and then played makeup artist/stylist. i don't know about anyone else, but i was entranced.
assorted gifts included a toaster, hancrafted hair clips, amazing yarn, a basket (filled with chocolate covered strawberries, nuts, and pretzels), a handmade headband with blinking skull, homemade notecards, two tiaras, two boas, and some truffles. ah, yes...there was also aged gouda.
dinner may have been followed up by tequila at a nearby gay bar.
i really wanted to mark this birthday. i am grateful for all of the succulent and vibrant folk that make my life so damn good. it is also the official end date to the "should we have another" question. i'm trying NOT to think about that part.
random:
tonight we will finish potter. last night ended with "it wasn't snape. it wasn't even voldemort." talk about a cliff hanger.
right now i'm prepping dinner and the boys are watching pbs under a blanket fort in the living room.
we've quit boyscouts in lieu of playdate for younger and potter/crafting/movies/something night with older.
the leon is working massive overtime. he starts work at six every morning. tues/thurs his day doesn't end until eight.
i work whatever days leon isn't in class. his day doesn't end until eight those days, either. mine doesn't end until eleven.
