*leetle sigh*

best part of my day, bar none. the leon drops us off at the waffle house. we eat. then we pile out into the brisk morning. i strap the boys into the bike trailer. "h! you're squishing me! don't squish me!" says c. "i'm not very happy about it either, c," says h, "but we just need to hang in there for a little bit." seriously. i cry. then? as i'm biking in the dark down the highway hoping to hell that my blinking lights and reflective everything and helmets keep us safe and oh my gosh what if i suddenly forget to bike and hell a fire it's cold... i hear "mommy. you're doing a GREAT job!" says h. "oh, and mommy? c wants you to know that you're doing a good job, too!" my heart? exploded. millions of pieces.

--------

401k raid check came today. not much cashola, but enough so that we can play that fabulous "hello money, goodbye money" game. we get to keep living in our sweet little house, and we'll have a car that functions. i'm ever so grateful that i had something to raid.

--------

h is number 4 on the waiting list for the kickass magnet school. it's a language immersion school. which is awesome, because he can learn the real spanish. he'll love that. i'll miss his long gibberish songs that he declared were "real spanish, mom." seriously. it's taking everything in me not to just run downstairs and wake him up with a zillion smooches.

---------

we had planned to do our anniversary celebration doohickey on our anniversary. only i planned it for the weekend that we had originally planned on getting married. not the actual anniversary. yeah, no, that would be this weekend...the one that is coming up. huh. i'm not sure what weekend we'll celebrate. but i think i've changed my mind about having people around. i think we should escape. and grab a moment for ourselves. in the past we've always kept the kids with us, or when my parents have watched them overnight...we've just come back to the house. i really want to make this night special.

i'm hoping that my freelance check comes in. heck, i'm holding on quite a few things coming in to see what bills can be paid and what else needs to be done so that i can block out all the bullshit and focus on this amazing man that i married. ten years. geez o' petes. i'd like to be able to get a room for the night ya' know? hopefully everyone will come through and all the pieces will come together.

------

say what you must about the cell phones but they a) protect the leon when he's doing his 3 hour a day commute and b) allow him to call home and discuss ice cream choices.
