this week is what leon would lovingly refer to as a "clusterfuck" at ye olde workplace. we have three magazines going at the same daggone time. the biggest issue of the year, our monthly, and our quarterly publications. the information for one section that i'm responsible for still hasn't arrived. and i've made some mistakes here and there that would be obsession central in the past. oh, and garretlad's mama and i got into it over the actual move date (garret lad and i made peace, so it's all good).
at any rate. week from heck, fer sure. and yet? i'm a happy little clam. yesterday was a leeetle bit rough, but today i was working my ass off when i suddenly realized how daggone happy i am. i used to complain to myself that all i wanted was the ability to enjoy my job. my home life? well, i haven't been able to keep up with the dishes...but i've ALWAYS enjoyed my children without worry. during my 'bout with this cycle the first time, i had a very clear, very concise feeling that h was not my sole responsibility, that he was his very own person...and that he would be well loved and cared for. that i didn't have to worry on his behalf. it's the other stuff i've never been able to get a handle on.
today though? golden. i'm so happy that this week has been utter crap. because it just reinforces how good things are.

I hear that "clusterfuck" term every once in a while.
I first heard it in the 80's.
K was shooting rock videos.
At that time rock videos were shot in the available time that the rock star had during a tour. So, for example, Yes would be available for 48 hours and so shooting would take place for 48 hours straight through...
of course many people used many, um, things to get them through those shoots.
And sometimes I would go see him wherever he was (sometimes they literally asked wives and girlfriends to the sets to boost moral) and I remember him hanging his head and saying "oh, honey, this one is just a clusterfuck."
MEMMMMMMMREEEEEESSSSS light the corners......
