have you met my son c.? he's the one on the left.
okay, so i'm a bit spoiled. i get that. but really? it makes up for the five or so years that i put in when i was in the trenches. my kids? have some sort of defective sleep gene. quite frankly, i blame my red china.
they don't sleep through the night until they are about three. then they sleep like rocks. and retain nappage for another year. or so. but this is the end of that era. which is difficult for me. as you know, i am all about the pursuit of the perfect nap.
so, my kid. dervish extraordinare. 9,999 maniacs wrapped up in one wee body. he usually makes it through a few hours on rocket speed before he tanks. if he misses that nap, he's out like a light by early afternoon. lately, however, it has been a struggle. and i'm done. there are few things i enjoy less than wrangling a kid into the corral for a nap. and spending a morning in such pursuits only to have a cranky kid in the afternoon really cranks my chain.
he's going to have to suck it up. so am i. and if we have a cranky "i'm going to cry because my mommy sucks" afternoon interlude, he can watch a video. his brain might melt out of his ears, but i'll be able to retain whatever sanity i have left.
