according to my children, i was the best mommy ever today. which completely rocks seeing as nothing special has happened. really. there wasn't television. i did give them two pieces of halloween candy...but really? nothing special. so, i'm kinda in love with that. also? they have spent the afternoon, i kid you not, fine tuning a song for their band about how much they love each other. all the way down to their shoes, people.

halloween was fabulous. sure, the dog ran off, sure the leon had his pant shred whilst chasing said dog (and was left in his undies...), sure the kid abandoned the batmobile we had all made (even though he loved building it), and, sure, we may have been caught in university of kentucky basketball feeeeeeeeeeever...it still rocked. we spent the evening with friends at the children's museum. they had decorated the place really well. the water exhibit became a pirate lair, the horse exhibit was a headless horseman "pin the head on the horseman," the baby woodland forest was shrek's swamp, and the moon exhibit was taken over by aliens. they had candy, and toy alternatives that rocked, and lots of crafts. we made bats. we made space ships. we made goo. good times. then we dropped by the coffee shop, so that superman could show off his flying skillz. they had apples and such along with candy, and the kids were awesome about choosing the healthy treat. we let them have some of the good stuff earlier...don't you worry.

today was pretty relaxed and sweet. grocery shopping. bought a few things at the hardware store. was called by a customer to, as her favorite barista, help her propose to her girlfriend. you know, the usual.

now i shall retire to my bed for hot tea as my plague has hit the nasty chest stage. silly plague.
